Barney, First Dog, A Little Gray Around the Edges

These annual holiday White House videos starring Barney, the First Scottie, used to be cute. Last year's provided the perfect fodder for comedian Jon Stewart to riff and ruff through. This year, Stewart's out of production and Barney seems out of material.

The basic plot here is that Barney and his lady Miss Beazley want to be National Park rangers, with cameo appearances by President George Bush, First Lady Laura Bush, the Bush daughters, and former British prime minister Tony Blair who has the best line about Scots "doing well."

Stick with this to the bitter end because, after the credits, you see an outtake of Bush chasing after Barney. The squat Scot has a mind of his own.
