Citizen Canine

Here's the homepage of FIDO, a New York dog group dedicated to responsible off-leash behavior by dogs and their humans. FIDO is a fine example of urban animal activism by the politically savvy dog owners who use New York's Prospect Park. They have formed a "fellowship" PAC to take care of both the park's interests and their own. Dogs are allowed to be unleashed in the park during certain hours and their keepers are vigilant about maintaining a good example -- and an interesting Web site.
