Dog Lady must confess she still hasn’t figured out the whole dog show world. Sure, she watches on TV and will be tuning into Westminster when it airs in February, but there still seems something detached about everybody who participates at dog shows — as if they view the dogs somewhat differently than the rest of us who are besotted.
Maybe Dog Lady feels this way because she watched the movie “Best In Show” too many times. Also, her darling dog would not be allowed to enter a winners’ circle because he has too many physical quirks (a twisted tail and rotating kneecap. He’s also fixed). Still, Dog Lady believes he should never be cast aside in any arena as a less than perfect specimen.
Karen Norteman, however, seems a dog show person with a charming sense and soothing perspective as she leads her readers through the various ups and downs of competition with her bearded collie. Her blog is user and dog friendly.
